I've just spent the last 2 and a half hours using INE's Voice Rack Rental service to get some hands-on time ahead of my 642-437 CVOICE exam. The exam is scheduled during my trip to Cisco Live, so still a few weeks away yet, but I had the afternoon free for studying at home, and this seemed the best use of the time.
This is the first time i've really used their Voice racks, so it took me a while to get myself setup and comfortable with access to all the kit. That said, they do provide a great service that automatically loads pre-defined configs at the start of the session, so all the fundamental routing/switching/login-credentials are already in place, which saves a bunch of time over getting a rack of completely blank kit.
As I wanted to work on the CUCME / Gateway setup, I chose to load their initial configs from Module 15 of the Voice Workbook Volume I. This focuses on Branch 2 (R3) of their Voice topology, which consists of a 2811 Router, a 3550 Switch, and a couple of 7961 phones to play with.
Next post i'll write up a breakdown of the tasks I completed, and plan out some tasks specific for the CVOICE exam ahead of my next rental.
'Til next time..
